BALMUDA The Brew

I hesitated to buy this machine as I was well versed in traditional pour over. I was impressed at the engineering that went into manufacturing this machine. I was more impressed at the consistent and delightful coffee that resulted. It is a splurge but for coffee lovers is a gem. As long as it lasts over time with proper maintenance (cleaning), it will be well worth the cost.

I have used Kona Pea erry beans from Hualalai Estate and didn't think the coffee could ever taste better. The Brew has upped the game on pour over coffee. Highly recommend The Brew to anyone who appreciates a great cup of coffee.

Honestly, I didn’t really expect to keep this thing (it was offered with a 60-day no-questions return policy), but I LOVE my Balmuda Toaster, and so HAD to try this out.

I’ve tested this against my own pourover, which I’ve been practicing for many years now - and I have to say, the Balmuda takes the cake. Reliable, tasty brews that highlight the intended notes of the coffee. Well done.

I’ve also tested this side-by-side vs the venerable Moccamaster, and it’s no-contest for me - the Brew by a MILE.

Coffee from the Brew is extremely clear (no oily taste at all).

I highly recommend this item for anyone who is delighted by nice devices, has the money to spare for a luxury item like this, and highly values their coffee experience.

Purchased for my partner as an engagement gift. I wanted to up his coffee game as a little surprise. We both love this machine. The price is significant and I thought it might come with more features for what we were paying (maybe automatically brewing or ready to brew at a scheduled time?). But the coffee it produces is wonderful. I find myself using less beans and drinking all of my coffee where as I used to go through beans like crazy and never finish my cup of coffee. I would recommend for purchase again. :)

I assume if it wasn’t for the price some folks would purchase “The Brew”. Design is wonderful, I love the process of preparing the Unit. Dialing in the water / coffee / setting ratio takes a few brews. Clean up as with set up is SUPER easy. Makes a most enjoyable cup of coffee !!
